Interior Finishing

I just finished painting some dash pieces for my superduty with the duplicolor vinyl and plastic paint and I was wondering what steps I needed to take to finish this paint off.

It goes on very nice and maintains the natural textured look of the dash pieces but when you slide your hand over it, the paint feels more rough and not as smooth and slippery as other unpainted parts of the dash.

What do I need to lay down to get this new piece to feel just as smooth as the rest? I can't wait to finish this mod and need your help!! Thanks!

Nada eh... Has anyone painted their interior panels before? Do you apply a coat of clear over the paint once dry or some other type of finishing coating? Any special type of clearcoat? This is my first time painting a plastic piece so I don't want to do any irreversible damage as I know how plastic is when it comes to chemicals. Any insight you guys can offer is very much appreciated!

I painted the dash in my stepdaughters car several years ago with Duplicolor vinyl paint and didn't put any finish on it. She uses Armorall on it is it still looks good everywhere except where the windshield leaks.

I don't know if there is any type of cover coating for that paint. I've never seen it anyway.

That was my general thought as well but I wanted to be 100% confident in the work.

Thank you for your time and help Carlene; even a quick response can be helpful
