trans swap
sorry for posting yet another auto to manual swap but i searched and read about 12 threads on this and still have questions.
1. can a mazda 5 hold up to my truck. just stock 351 4x4 with 3.54 gears. if not what other trans can.
2. how much does it cost. i'm considering doing the swap because i would prefer a manual and two i don't have the money to get a rebuild e4od ($1400).
3. in the threads i read it was shady on whether or not i need to get a new computer. i read that i just put the neutral safety switch in N to fool the computer. but other threads said the computer didn't need replaced or it did.
4. what truck should i get my stuff out of. another 150 or a 250 or what.
i think this is all i can think of now. thanks for the help.
i forgot to add what i do with my truck. i haul the occasional ton of dirt or sand. pull another car out of the mud or ditch. and haul construction material every now and then. not sure if this affects the trans or not. and i would like to keep over drive if that's possible.
