To the OP,

I know this is a long shot, but we have to do a documantary in school and I would love to do it over the truck. I could use the videos that were posted on here and the pics that were posted up. I just wanted permission to use the image of your truck, as it is your work.

I just stumbled across this thread. Great documentation. I remember when I was T about page 25, I said to myself, no way he'd sell that monster truck! Then I saw the post about it being sold and I thought "surely he'll keep the dually!" I bet it was sad to see those babies leave home.

If you don't mind me asking a couple questions,

What happened to the red Toyota pickup after it got damaged?

Why did you not at least keep the dually?

I'm guessing finances forced the sale of the beast?

Hello, everyone! Sorry for the long absence, but I have been away.

I sold the dually right before I sold Thunder Beast. I wanted to
replace the floor in the dually, but I couldn't find anyone to help me
with the project. The engine also needed an overhaul and it just seemed
too expensive to try and restore the truck just to let it sit and go
nowhere. So, I put it up for sale. I guess the same reasoning can be
said for Thunder Beast as well. I got tired of never being able to find
anyone to help me when I needed it, and I couldn't do a lot of things
by myself. The trucks were just sitting and collecting pine needles.
I found buyers for the dually and Thunder Beast who I knew were
interested in them and who would take good care of them.

I still wish you were closer to me, because the dually would be in my shop right now getting fitted to haul earthquake around if you were. Somebody has a really cool piece of history, that's for sure.

Yeah that's for sure Alan. And JW if I were closer I certainly could have and would have helped on at least the floor replacement. Not to mention what ever else I could have. After all that's what the automotive enthusiast community is for right?

Holy freakin crap! What a crazy, amazing thread. You, sir, have had an incredible adventure with an awesome truck. I know the heartbreak of giving up a machine that defines you. I only wish I could get my hands on a tshirt.

What an amazing story. I was bored so started going through old threads and found this one. The history between the OP and his truck is an amazing read and was well worth sitting up this late to finish.
