Will putting on a k&N cold air induction and using a performance tuner, really make such a huge difference with HP and mpg? I have a 2003 F-350 4x4 Dually Crew cab with the V-10. I ordered it new and have about 30k miles on it now. Just putting on a new set of Goodyear duratracs on it and was considering the above. Seriously will I notice a difference. It's already a great truck. Thanks
Depending on the tuner you will notice it. The intake...not so much. Will either help MPG...not unless you have a custom MPG tune will you see any real difference.
Trust me, CAI are of no use. The factory installed intake setup works very well.
Tuners work, just depends on which one. SCT has good ones but I've never owned one. I have owned diablosport ones and they work well too, if you get it dyno tuned. It costed me $100 to get a custom tune from a local diablosport dealer.
i'll second the vote for mike. even though i havn't bought anything from him (to many things going on at once), he gave me some great info, and he drops me an email every so often to see how it's been going, just to keep in touch!! when the time comes, he's the first one i'll be calling!!
Mike's tune will definitely wake up the vehicle. On my 2001 V10, which is an SRW short-bed supercab with 3.73's, his 87 octane tune dropped my 0-60 from 10 seconds to a 9.02-9.04 second 0-60.
I would also add that the only intake upgrades that will do anything for you except make more noise is one that changes the factory intake tube with the sharp right-angle right after the airbox. The Volant I installed is such a kit. Click the link in my signature.

Hope you guys dont mind if I get in here and ask a few questions. I have a 2001 V10 F250, 12" lift on 39.5 swampers. K&N CAI with poweraid throttle body spacer. (Dont hammer on me I bought the truck as it sits) I use it for my construction company as well as tow our toyhauler. What would be a good tune for my truck?
