so some loser decided to pop my back window to steal a $20 case of beer out of my back seat. i was told that the cable runs in a loop around to window to both sides to make it slide each way. the cable is off on both sides now, broken clip on the passenger side. the cable on the passenger side moves when i push the buttons, but not the drivers side... leading me to believe that maybe it came off a pulley or something. my insurance premium is $500 so i was planning on repairing it myself. haynes manual doesn't say anything about this window as far as i can tell. any help on the steps i should take would be much appreciated. do i have to pull the back seat or the headliner or both?
Try doing a bit of searching in the Super Duty forum. I know that I have seen a couple of power rear window threads down there, but I do not have any of them bookmarked.
If all else fails, you can post the same question down there, as that forum is about twice as busy as this '04 - '08 F150 forum.
NO need to pull headliner. Just removing rear seat and the felt cover on back wall will allow you to see both cables and the motor that "looks like" a regular window motor.
cool. thanks guys. another guy sent me a link to the schematics from the manual. so i should be good to go. gonna be a fair bit of work by the sounds of it, but a learning experience all the same
