Glad you found the blown fuse before you tore into the steering column!
If taking the steering column apart isn't fristurating enough...it gets even more frusturating to close it back up and find out it was just a fuse.

As far as bumpers go-for those who would like a heavy one, but don't have the time/equipment/skills to make their own...scavange the junk yards for a front bumper from a tow truck. There are plenty of '80-'96 wreckers...in the yards and many still in service.
My '65 was originally a wrecker and it's got a wicked front bumper on it.
Matter of fact...a wrecker bumper will "most likely" come with rubber guards so you can push cars without making too many scratches.

As a side note-if you do happen to pick parts from a wrecker...take the light bar and associated electrical switches or switch box. If it's a standard truck...the T19 will probably have a PTO to run the hydraulics. A fairly cheap way to get a whole hydraulic system that will be a bolt-on for your truck. I have built 3 flatbed F350 cab and chassis's. The '65 was originally a wrecker. My first '85 was a dump truck. My new/current '85 was also a dump truck. My next flatbed IDI will begin as a wrecker platform to take advantage of all the goodies the wreckers have!

That's my kind of thinkin'!

I don't usually like the wrecker bumpers because they hang too low but they are GREAT for their intended use.

There is no need to be shy about it. I challenge anyone to say they've never forgoten to check the obvious things first. Working it out before it costs you too much money is the main thing. The guys on this forum are your best weapon for that.

Don't sweat it. Fuses are a lot cheaper than a turn signal switch and an hour or two of your time. It's very helpful when members report the solution to the problem. It can be aggravating to use the search feature, find the thread with your exact symptoms, only to find the solution was never posted.
