What year is the carburetor? Check the tag. It won't be a '75 because a 400 wouldn't have been in there yet (assuming the carburetor came with the motor).
400 wasn't available in '75, but I'll give the specs anyway -
Wet: 31/64
Dry: 7/8
Yep...I bought it with the 400 in it (got paperwork on it being a replacement for the factory engine) AND a re-built carb with no tag and no markings (other than a sticker that says "Remanufactured")
I have given up trying to ID the carb. I fact, If setting the float height does not solve my idle problems (I thnk I have finally fixed all the vacuum leaks)...Then I plan to replace the carb.
If it says "remanufactured", someone bought a reman. carb from a store. You never know what it came with. I'll agree to replacing it.
Also, check the gaskets below the carburetor. Make sure they are the proper ones and sealed tight.
Thanks for the help guys...........as a matter of fact.....I just got back from the parts store with a re-build kit and a new,,,big ole paper spacer / gasket thang. When I took the carb off the old spacer was on upside down. I imagine there was a pretty serious vacuum leak going on there.
Gonna put the kit in, put it back on and see how she goes. I'll report back.
