What's the axle code?

1973 F102 Axle code 17J?
The 17 should be 3:25 but what's the J identifier?

Thanks did'nt know that was on the data plate. Is there one for manual or is it just left blank?

If it's a letter, it has power steering.

If it's a number, it doesn't have power steering.
