Will the DJM 4" rear kit work with the leaf springs with 3 bolt shackles in the rear or does there need to be any mods to use , It dont specify in their website but I am sure someone here know before I order them , and I know all trucks are somewhat diff. just curious if the pinion angle needs to be shimmed and corrected , most mini's I have dropped 4" did not but this is my first fullsize truck ? 68' longbed 2wd by the way Thanks...
No, there made to work with the std type shackels.
You could replace the springs with the regular ones which are 3" shorter than the ones used for the EZ-RIDE suspension(28" vs 31"). But there not cheap. $300 each...
Another option what be to flip the front hanger. Then you will need to correct the pinion angle
Thanks convincor , Not good news , $300 a piece + drop kit is not happening , Does anyone know what amount of drop is achieved from flipping the hanger ? And how about losing a leaf I dont haul with it..

Reason: added a question
here is mine. Mine is also like the pics in the post above. 4 inch drop in the front and 5 inch drop in the back. I also used the lowering shocks. Ride is surprisingly good to be that low.
Thanks! Ive owned it about 7 years now. I bought it from the 2nd owner who bought it in 1968 when the 1st owner bought it and then decided he wanted a car, lol. All original and I decided to keep it that way other than making it low, which in my opinion looks good. Getting ready to redo the interior which the second owner redid years ago when he added tuck and groove upholstery when he sat in the seat with a screwdriver in his back pocket. HOW DARE HIM! LOL!
If anyone would like pics of the lowering kit installed on my truck, front and back, just say so and I will post them up in a thread this weekend. I might do it anyway since alot of people ask about it anyway.
I am currently running 215/70R15 BF Goodrich T/A's on the front and 275/60R15 T/A's on the rear, a little smaller height tire on the front to keep from rubbing, and a wider size tire so that it looks a little more "in-line" with the front. (You know what I mean, looks like its running sideways with the narrower factory rear end, so the 60R15 kinda helps it look straighter when your going down the road!)
My truck still sports the factory ford 8 inch wheels as well. I get compliments all the time about how good it sits, and how it looks riding down the road. I will take some pics this weekend of the undercarriage and post them in a new thread, probably sunday as I keep the truck in a climate controlled building and I will not be able to go back there until sunday because of my job.
Thanks for the pics convincor , I can see quite the drop happening from that - and its free , will that work with my spring setup or would the rear shackle even matter in the flip , Very nice truck william...
Yes, they are original ford stamped 15X8 wheels, but you can also get 15X8 repos that look the exact same. I bought 3 inch wide trim rings that fit a 15 inch wheel. The dog dish hubcaps above, I think, are listed as 1974 ford hubcaps, which normally came on ford cars. I also run 1960 ford car hubcaps and I also run 1964 galaxy 330 spinner hubcaps which are the full 15 inch and covers the whole wheel. These 3 are my favorite ones to run on these ford trucks. You may can find them floating around on ebay from time to time as well.
Im gonna go tomorrow and take some pics of the suspension and post them sometime sunday evening/night. I know alot of people would like to see that who are interested in lowering their truck without air bags.
