Windshield wiper motor bracket

Ok, so I'm starting to work on my 66 f100...Problem is, I'm missing a few critical parts. So far, I've been pretty lucky and found most of them, but now I've run into a problem. I cannot find an orginal bracket for my windshield wiper motor. I have a bracket that is already in there, but it must not be the right one because when I starting looking to reattach it, none of the bolt holes line up. Anyone have one that they would consider parting with or got an idea where I might find a new or at least new to me bracket at? Thanks!!!

Not sure if you need it or not, but here is the VIN info:

Warranty number: f10AL823433
WB Color Model Body Trans Axle
129 B f100 281 c c2

Max GVW lbs cert. net. h.p. RPM
05000 129 4000 452585

Does a bear go 10 200 in the woods? Are there two Bill Wilson's typing here?

Not only are the single & 2 speed wiper motor brackets different, but...

If it's a 2 speed motor...there were TWO different ones (before/from serial number 788,001), and...

If...the early motor was replaced after 1969 by a Ford dealer, the replacement motor/bracket (DOTZ17508A)...the whole tamale...is different than what was used originally.

This is what you get...Bill Wilson...when you ask Bill Wilson a question like this!

It is a 2 speed motor that is currently installed, and the switch appears to be a 2 speed switch as well. The bracket just doesn't fit against the firewall like it should (the bolt holes don't line up) and additionally the arm that connects the wiper motor to the passanger side wiper pivot doesn't fit right either...Makes me think that there is something not right....

Your truck's serial number is 823433, so it uses the later wiper motor, but...

Who knows what wiper motor your truck has now?

Look on the wiper motor for a Ford ID number, post what it is...it'll be something like this: C7TA-17508-A or -D.

1966: As original...from serial number 788,001: C7TZ17508D .. Wiper Motor (Motorcraft WM225).

C7TZ17496B .. Wiper Motor Mounting Bracket / 6 5/8" center to center mounting holes.

Fits: 1966 F100/950 from serial number 788,001 / 1967/72 F100/950.

Fits: 1966 F100/950 from serial number 788,001 / 1967/72 F100/950.

Ok, just went out and took a couple of pics...I can't post them but here is what I found on the end of the wiper motor: 2 lines of information printed on it...

The first line says 12y-1 mar 15 76 (or) 78 not sure

The second line says DTTF-17504-AA

This help anyone out at all? Thanks again for the assistance, I'm sure this won't be the only question I'll have...

The second digit of the ID numbers prefix is a number, not a letter.

It could be D1TF or D7TF if the date is 1978. Take another look, then post what you find.

IMO, either way, it's the wrong wiper motor.

Yep, I miss read it, it is a "7". So now the question is where can I find the correct wiper motor for this pickup??? Anyone got a spare one laying around that they'd like to get rid of to a newby??? Thanks!!!!

FWIW: I have a 76 two spd motor on my original 1 spd bracket, with the original 1 spd arm on the motor to make it park correctly. It is connected to a delay switch mounted on the dash.

Some SOB stole my extra cab or I would be happy to offer a bracket.

The motor is the same 1966 F100/950 from serial number 788,001 / 1967/72 F100/750 / 1973/79 F100/350 / 1978/79 Bronco, but...

The mounting bracket is not the same.

The mounting bracket did not come with the motor as original...sold separately.

The correct mounting bracket you need is late 1966 thru 1972 only and has that 6 5/8" center to center span: C7TZ17496B

Make SURE that measurement is correct...considering that ppl swap parts around, someone may have replaced the cab.

Does the VIN on the registration match the VIN on the Warranty Plate? If it does not, or the cab has been swapped, I may have to type all this jazz all over again.

You will need to find a used bracket, because no Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has a new original.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will also need the correct wiper motor:

C7TZ-17508-D .. Wiper Motor (Motorcraft MM225) C7TZ-17508-D replaced C6TZ-17508-A.

ID numbers: C6TF-17504-A / C7TF-17504-A or -B or -C / D3TF-17504-AA / D8TF-17504-AA / D9TF-17504-AA.

Fits 1966 F100/950 from serial number 788,001 / 1967/72 F100/750 / 1973/79 F100/350 / 1978/79 Bronco.

Notice that there is no D7TF ID number. I could not find D7TF in any parts catalog, so the motor you have could be from an 1973/79 F500 or larger truck, or a 1966/77 Bronco.

EDIT: Did you see what jowilker typed above? I'm going by what the Ford parts catalogs say, but from what he typed, the bracket will work either way.

But...this may depend on what his trucks serial number is.

The problem with Ford is...that they update 10's of 1000's of part numbers every year.

Trying to find out what the original ID numbers and part numbers were...is a royal PITA!
