Hi, I have a Ford Econoline E100 Pick up and am trying to work out what driven gear I need for my speedo. I am running a 15" wheel with an overall tire diameter of approx 25", a 4.00 gear ratio, 3spd box and 6 tooth drive gear but I cant see a number on the speedo dial for the number of revolutions per mile e.g.1000, 940 etc.
My calculations depending on how accurately I am measuring the tyre (surely tire pressure and tread wear will affect this?) and taking it as 1000 revs/mile as (I don't know what it actually is) come to either a 19 or 20 tooth gear. Also is the speedo mph or kmph as it doesn't say?
