I have a 2005 Ford F250 PSD. I was at my ranch this past weekend and noticed that when I shift on fly to 4 wheel drive 2 things begin to occur. First my AC changes from blowing out of the vents and begins blowing out of the defrost vents. Second, my speedometer completely stops working. This is something that just began happening and the only way I could get things straightened back out was the turn the truck off and on. Any ideas on where to head with this problem?
The blower coming out of the vents means you have a vacuum problem, either in the hubs or in the lines going to them probably.
The speedo prob might by a VSS has gone out? I think there's one on the trans, one somewhere on the rear axle, maybe one on the front too? I really have no idea, but since its all electrical and not mechanical, I'd bet on a sensor somewhere being bad,.
