hey guys ive had my evolution programer in my 00 exp for a few months now. i love the stock settings. but when ever i try to mess with the timing it either wont run or the last time it smoked so bad i thought i burned up my o2's and cats. any one have some settings to get me started???
o and i run the tow mode with tightened shift points andf 89 octane
Could you please provide the HEX code for your vehicle along with the values you're setting the timing to? I'd be happy to take a look and see what's up. It sounds like there may be a problem with the custom options setting for the timing adjustments.
Also, please include:
Evo Model (EEF2100 or 15050)
Firmware Version
Calibration Version
All info can be found on the Version Info screen in the Diagnostics (or Diagnostics -> Tech Support) menu.
2000 expedition 5.4l
Evo Model 15050
Firmware Version- 250.5758
Calibration Version-1.05736
hex mpal6bc.hex
running the towing mode on 89 octane
well i have tried bumping the timing up a few 10ths i dont remember exactly. i have read the instructions a few times and i thought i had a good idea of what to change with the higher octane. i tow a 27ft camper and im looking for all i can get.
i have also changed the wot and shift firmness. i know i needed to adjust the idle when messing with the timing.
Dang! I don't know how I never got back to this one. My apologies for that oversight. I've got your information now and will take a look over the weekend to see what's up.

Take care.
I wonder what ever happened to Power_Hungry?
I, for one would like to know the answer to the problem.
