I just bought a 97 EB 4x4 5.4l with 176,000 Kms in great shape, needs a few things: I think the rear shocks are shot, the rear tires need to be replaced, probably flush rad, transfer case, diffs, I would like to install a Transgo tranny kit. One of the things I really like is the 2 wd option on the 4by selector switch, and I didn't realize til I had bought it that it has the Mach sound system, quite decent, had thought I'd be replacing the stock system right away but after listening I don't think so.
Any other suggestions for value maintenance on such a beast?
PS I now know what everybody's talking about with the spark plug replacement !
Other suggestions for maintenance? I'd check the ball joints. Every used Expedition we looked at when were shopping (all of them over 80,000km) needed ball joints, including the 2000 XLT Sport we bought.
Also several of the ones we looked at had leaking rear seals on one side of the other.
