grinding noise
it occasionally makes the same grinding noise when i am driving forward on a bumpy road.
my initial thoughts were the tie rod ends were lazy and pushing the brake shields into the rotors but when i was on the hill, that was not true because i wasn't moving when it made that loud grinding noise.
does it have anything to do with the motor twisting a little when load is applied to it? i was jumping on the front bumper with the engine on and i couldn't get it to grind.

it sounds like metal on metal so similar to the noise of the brake shield against a turning rotor.
i am afraid what ever this noise is, is creating sparks when it grinds. not a good situation.
i have been under it and shook anything i can get to move loose and nothing is grinding.
could it be the starter bendix not retracting all the way? could the flywheel be loose?
