Need Advice
04 f-250 Diesel, 75k miles
engine blew on freeway, everyone says they have not heard of this prior:
6 months out of 5 year warr.
New re-man engine will be $14,400
I would appreciate any thoughts or advice on direction to try and get Ford to help, etc.

Sorry to hear what happened to you.
Before you start putting your money together for a re-man engine, I think you should tell us what happened exactly. The meaning of "engine blew" brings all kinds of different pictures in my mind, but for me a blown engine is the one, where you can see the crankshaft through the side of the block....
So what happened?

Good questions. I wish I could answer in greater detail. The truck is in a Ford shop 200 miles away. At first, the thought was an injector problem, morphed into opening it up and valve/pistons. They are good folks, and my guys here have been in contact, they are all on the same page. I am trying to determine the best course. Thanks
