Question on changing seats (F350)

I'm wondering if it's possible to switch out seats in a 2000 Ford F350 dually.

It currently has two captains chairs with the middle console in between. I really like the truck, but I need to have 3 seats in the front so I need to remove that middle console and put in the "flip up seat" (not sure what you call it, you can flip the backrest up for someone to sit there or down to put drinks and such in the cup holder).

Is this as simply as "unbolting" the middle console and taking it out...and then bolting the new one in place?

Thanks!!

I believe its a fairly simple swap (except you have to take all the seats out). I dont believe there is any major differences between the model years as far as mounting but someone with more experience will have to say for sure. The opposite of what you want to do was done on a newer truck here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...h-6-speed.html so I would think the reverse would be true for your truck. Be warned though the center seat will probably not be comfortable for anyone but a small child with the transmission hump sticking up as high as it does.

Thanks...that's pretty much what I thought..

BTW...that middle front seat would be for a child.....not a "permanent seat"...more of a "every now and then" seat.

You will need to remove the armrests from your seats in order to mount the center section.

That will leave holes where the armrests were mounted.

the middle seat is the most uncomfortable seat to sit on FYI. But if not used daily it is ok.
