GVWR question
hello,
im new to the thread and i was wondering if someone could tell me the GVWR of my truck. its a 1989 f350 DRW with the 7.3L IDI 5 speed and the vin is 2FDKF38M8KCA28040. id look on the door jam but someone who owned it before me painted over it

yeah i know but i was hoping someone had an exact number because in CT if its 10001 or more pounds i dont need to go through emissions and if you call they arent any help...lovely DMV

here is a tool I used to look it up and your truck showed up in it.
Said your truck was a class 3 truck with weight range of 10,001 - 14,000 Pounds. But it didnt give an exact GVWR.

Um, it also depends on what you register it as...
you can register a truck outside its GVWR sticker.
Most go lower to avoid the huge weight sticker fees, but as you note, pick up emissions crap
you can go higher, but if checked must show evidence of proper upgrades to support the weight increase.
