overdrive not hitting 4th gear
i have an 84 w/ the 300 ci. i converted to automatic about a year ago stripped a running 86 in doing so 
but it worked great for about a year. went on a short road trip and it crapped out. i put in another tranny (the same thing i had but newer, an 88) the engine was a fuel injected 302. it works fine into 3rd gear and won't go into 4th. just stays in 3rd and won't shift. i'm thinking it could be electric, but its just like the one i had before on the outside.i was thinking of trying to swap the valve bodies to see what it done but i don't know it would fix anything. i was told the overdrive was in the torque converter but idunno. could someone who's been there before please help me out? i'm here scratching my head and looking stupid here.
