Ok Guys, need some help here, My truck is making a strange sound when I back it out of my driveway, seems to happen at about the same place, after I've backed it up about 50 feet, last for a couple of seconds and then stops, only does it when the truck is cold. Sounds like a vibration under the truck...
Have tried an experiment two days in a row, backed it out of garage to my road, about 100 feet, then drove it right back in the garage and did it again, repeated 4 times, both days I get the vibration on the first time only at almost the same spot...
I'm thinking I might have a funky U-joint, but wonder why this only happens in reverse and only when truck is cold....
I would think it would be driveshaft related. Might just need lubrication. If you have never replaced the u-joints its probably time. Or if you have a driveshaft shop near you. Have them do it and have it balanced at the same time. Thats what I do on new to me vehicles. Use greaseable u-joints.
