Stop Light Switch

I am feeling a little stupid... I replaced the power booster on my 80 F100 and I really didn't place close attention to how the stop light switch attached to the brake pedal. It looks like it wraps around the linkage to the booster and held in place by a cotter pin. I looked at my Chilton manual and that shows it dissembled. Does anyone have a photo or diagram of how its supposed to go together?

Here's a picture.

It's a little bit difficult to understand how it works till you realize how ridiculous the method is, but I guess it works. The hole is intentionally made sloppy in the booster rod. The switch hangs in mid air on this assembly, and when you push on the pedal, the switch gets activated because of the slop in the hole.
