Exclamation Injector o-ring troubles

I'm in the middle of changing my injector o-rings, and forgot that cylinder seven is the one that I have a glow plug filament stuck in... That makes it kind of hard to blow the fluid out - any solutions?

Also, I removed the pushrod and rocker arm on that cylinder when I was trying to remove the injector, because I didn't have much clearance. I've read something about having to clock the motor before replacing the rocker arm. How do I do this? I can't seem to find a post on the subject...

Just suck it out.... take a 60cc syringe (found at most farm or vet supply stores) and 12" of 1/4" poly tubing. Hook tubing up to syringe and put tube down injector hole.

Rocker arms are slightly loose when the cam is such that neither the intake nor exhaust valves are open.
So, you want to install the rocker arms watching to make sure the they are loose. If they start to tighten, rotate the motor with a breaker bar on the crank and watch the rocker/valve. As soon as they are loose and you can tighten the bolts, then torque them down and do the next one. This about eliminates the chance for bending a push rod.

Good luck.

that would also explain why I bend push rods somewhat frequently - now if I can get the truck to start, I'll be in good shape.

I put some bad veggie oil in it by accident, and it died soon after. After draining the bad fuel and replacing it, it was getting some fuel at first but seems like it's getting none whatsoever at this point. btw - I changed the o-rings because it has been losing about a gallon of rotella every few weeks, and it's not going onto the ground or into the coolant. the old rings seemed fine, but the injectors were caked with ridiculous amounts of debris and sludge. the lack of fuel flow leads me to believe that the fuel pump might have gone, but my concern is ultimately that the injector nozzles may be ruined - is this likely?

Clocking the engine means putting the balancer mark at 11;00 position. This eliminates the chances of bending pushrods. Torque the holddowns to 20 ft/lbs.

I really ain't that smart... I got a book.
