Got the bottom end taken care of. Now with removing the injectors from the intake, half of them broke. I was told they should just slide out. wellll.... needless to say after soaking them for 4 days with PB blaster, they didnt. most of the plastic parts on the injectors either cracked or rolled over on themselves. I went and priced new ones and WOW $563 for 8 from advanced (450.40 with my "connections"). bt nonetheless, i cant afford that right at the moment. is there a way to save these things, or am i pretty much screwed and going to the junkyard for ones i have no info about?
...You did take the fuel rail off first didnt you....Never heard of that problem ??? Lew
563 for injectors ??? Go to summit or jegs, or better yet go to promracing.... Lew
That was a quote from advanced auto... for stock 19lbers. And on summits website all i seen were 21lbers. Ill call them soon and get a quote. Thanks. also, the fuel rail cam off prett easy, just the injectors got alll messed up on their way out. The 94 motor has been nothing but a pain...
Ask me why I moved from Buffalo to California 9 years ago.
Moving from the snowblet to acid rain?! haha. I wish i lived towards NY because they get twice the amount of snow we get. I love it. The most we have ever gotten was 36in in 26 hours. It was a blast. Cars were stuck everywhere. (4x4 chevys) we made out good that year.
the injectors on mine were a pain to take out as well, but it didnt break any, some of the plastic caps on the ends rolled over, but those can be rolled back just fine... i thought maybe i needed some special tool to take them out, but haynes said to just yank on them, so i did lol
Just a note, clean out the holes in the intake with a dremmel or something before trying to put injectors back in, they should slide in there real easy with some light lube applied.
ya i'm gonnna get my intake hot tanked so it'll be brand new when i'm putting the injectors back in... the only thing i still have to do is get out two broken bolts from the head that held the intake manifold in place the ones that broke are on the corners next to the water ports... pain in my ***.
When you put the o-rings back on the injectors and put them back in the lower intake, use a little vaseline on the rings. This will help keep a good seal there and make installation of the injectors a lot easier.
thanks for all the help. Im going to order the 19lb injectors from Pro-M racing, thanks a bunch lew. Also,, what adj FPR and wideband O2 should I use and how easy are these things to use/adjust?
well i looked up the part numbers for an 89 351w F250 and an 89 5.0 in a mustang and they had the same part numbers.... im thinking it will work for me.
