Hello again
So just wondering soon I am going to Delete the CAT/DPF and add my Spartan tuner. So what are the Max towing temps like for a long grade and then like for the track what are the most that I can do with out damage? Also for Trans I was seeing 230 Is this because we were doing 45 floored on hills or is there something else wrong.
Thanks for the help
Nick
Once you get your Spartan setup you can monitor whatever you want on the guage and also set your high and low limits so it warns you if anything gets too high. Here are the limits I got from Mick at Spartan. He's the guy to talk to if you have any problems with the Spartan stuff.
Gauge Limits
EGRTA – Pre Turbo EGT
High Limit 2000
High Warning 1600
EOT – Engine Oil Temp
High Limit 300
High Warning 230
ECT – Engine Coolant Temp
High Limit 275
High Warning 225
FRP – Fuel Rail Pressure
High Limit 30000
High Warning 27500
Low Warning 4500
FRT – Fuel Rail Temp
High Limit 200
High Warning 140
TFT – Transmission Fluid Temp
High Limit 275
High Warning 220
MGP – Manifold Gauge Pressure
Max Depends on you 40-50
High Warning Same as above 35-45
those are the real limits, ol mick knows his stuff i wouldn't go past what he says is the limit. on hot days i hit 220-225 on my trans while towing 70 to 75 mph up bridges and things with it to the floor. going beyond those recommended limits on egt's and manifold gauge pressures is bad. even if you can get the truck to do it. highest egts i've seen is 1800 and that was really really doggin it and 40 psi on the mgp. while your getting the spartan i've heard they have a new test tune they are putting out to some people it was like 350-375hp! awesome! there is a thread on powerstroke.org about it.
