Turbo Question

Hey guys, I am a proud new diesel owner and am somewhat new to the different noises they make. My 09 has 500 miles on it already and i notice that when i accellerate with the turbo spooled at 10psi through the grears it makes a weird noise when it reaches the final gear at 10psi. It sounds like it is blowing out of a blow off valve or something...like the pressure is escaping but it is still at 10psi and it is quite a bit louder. It stops when I call for more or less boost.

Thanks for any help.

yeah they do that. its just the blowoff valve letting that pressure go when it shifts gears. some trucks have waste gates that pretty much do the same it was kinda explained to me (i'm a diesel moron by the way, im still tryin to learn myself) that the truck automatically de-fuels when you shift so the turbo's blow off they pressure because the engine rpm drops then when you catch the next gear the turbos spool back up with the engine speed. if thats not right i'm sure someone will correct me haha. but those noises are perfectly normal. The loud valve chatter sound is normal too.
