I also have a trans leak along with the turbo pedestal leak. The trans has a Mag-Tech high capacity pan on it. I talked to them a while back and they don't think that their pan would be leaking. I find it hard to believe that it is leaking because of the rubber o-ring that is used on it. All the bolts are tight in the pan.
Where else is the most common place to look to find oil leaks? I have looked around and the oil looks to be coming from everywhere.
Latex gloves, safety glasses, brake cleaner, and lots of blue papertowels and clean, clean, clean.
I've been cleaning the underside of my rig for almost a week now, trying to determine where my trans fluid is coming from, as well as a small oil leak.
You just gotta keep at it. Eventually you will clean enough of the underside of the truck to find where the source is.
Your trans leak may just be the front seal telling you to change the fluid. Back last summer when I had my V10 trans cooler and was dating chicks my truck apparently didn't like, the front seal leaked until I had the tranny flushed and later added a 26-row 6.0 trans cooler. Since then, no issues....
But yeah, Stewart's angle is the best way to go to hunt down a leak.
The problem that I have with this truck is that I don't drive it enough. I clean it up and the truck sits, then it gets driven short distances, no leaks showing and then I forget about it. I guess I need to pay more attention to it and drive it more.
