Weird front end sound.

So I have been reading post on here that talk about needing new hubs and lubricating front bearings (or something like that.) It got me thinking. I have a weird sound in the front end of my truck. I thought at first it might be the front drive line spinning, but it moves free at a stand still and I had my wife drive while I looked under, I could see that it was not spinning. So I am not sure what the sound is. The sound is not loud and it is not at all speeds. I wondered if anyone has experienced this or can explain what a front end going out would sound like. I only have 55,000 miles on her.

Thanks

Can you possibly explain the sound? Can it be heard with the windows up/down? Any details will help. I have some ideas but don't want to steer you the wrong direction, if it can be helped...

At that low miles it should not be anything wrong, are you hearing tire noise? some times tires make funny noises.

Pull the front hub locks off & drive it . If the noise is gone, one of your hub locks is bad. Re-install the locks one at a time to determine which one is bad. This may not be the problem, but it will eliminate a lot of stuff that could be bad.

Tire noise is common, especially if you've got big tires. If a tire is a little low on air, tires need rotating, many possibilities.

It could be a tire noise, just sounds like gear noise more to me. I do feel a slight vibration inside the truck at certain speeds then it goes away. does that help?

I have a clicking noise that I can hear whenever my suspension moves. I've narrowed it down to the drivers side sway bar link. I can reach in there and move it and create the noise...
