Crazy things I have seen.

yeah I have to agree about quickie lube places.I used to do all my own oil changes before moving to arizona..I then started going to Jiffy Lube first and then walmart auto express.Overall I had pretty good luck with these places. But there were a few incidents, like when the jiffy lube guys stripped two screws in my air filter box and I didnt discover it until months later so it had been sucking dirty air.I put a couple of nuts on it.Then there was an incident at walmart..I walked around the store for an hour and they call be back to pickup my vehicle, and I find out they have not changed the oil! They said they needed a "powerplug",I didnt know what they were talking about and they didnt either apparently so I took it home and found nothing wrong with the drain plug and ended up changing the oil myself.I did see one thing suspicious, there was some green compound smeared all over the oil pan.Never again,I`m back to changing my own oil even though I have to go to a remote area to do it because the association does NOT allow draining of fluids on the property.

Post Crazy things I have seen.

A few years back in upstate N.Y. during winter I had my oil changed by a quick oil change shop. I checked it a quarter mile down the road. They overfilled my crankcase. I checked for leaks and luckily there was none. I checked my oil filter and they didn't even tighten it- I easily could turn the filter by hand.
Last year my wife had her Honda's oil changed by a shop. She paid $50.00 for it. I asked her what the hell? I looked at the invoice and it was 20.00 for the oil change and 30.00 for an "oil supplement". I called the shop and they said what they added was a special chemical to make the engine last longer. I asked what it was and they said "Wynn's Friction Proofing". I was not a happy individual.

Crazy things I have seen.

I was at a Wal-Mart Super Center in Amarillo,Tx. buying some tires and haveing them put on. In comes a very irate man. They had changed his oil and filter. It seems the filter they put on was to long. The guy hit a dip or something and it ripped the filter off. LMAO.

Crazy things I have seen.

i was on vacation 2 years ago, and my truck came due for her oil change, and towing a trailer, i decided not to drive the extra 1200km's home, so i took it to canadian tire for a oil change. i went out in the bays to check under the truck while it was on the hoist, and i told the guy that it takes 5 L of oil right on.. next day when i checked the oil (for some odd reason) it was over full by atleast a L... 5000 km's later i go to change my oil and the dummy cross threaded both drian plugs ( base pan's from a ltd).....

another time, i friend asked me to change the oil in his GF's car, i said sure, i pulled the drain plug and procceded to wait for an hour to drain a 4cyl dodge shadow... it was like thick tar.....
asked him when was the last time the oil was change... he thought about it for a min. and said " she's had the car for 60,000 km's now, dont' thinks she's changed it" 2 month's later the motor went...

Yep, out of all the imports, I can indeed say that The Honda's will definitely take a beating and keep running like a charm. I don't know what their secret is, but I wish they would share it with all of the other automakers.

Those civics, especially, seem to run forever no matter what you do to them.

Crazy things I have seen.

Before my wife and I bought this house I didn't have a place to change our oil so I had to depend upon one of the lube shops. They did a decent job except they OVER tightened the plug and filter. I had a booger of a time getting both off our vehicles once I changed the oil myself the first time. I guess they had all been coached to never let a plug or filter fall off.
