Shifter question
I owned a 54 f100 a few years ago. I had installed a 66 mustang shifter on the floor with the C4 tranny. I remember someone made an extended shifter rod for it. I cannot remember who that was. I was also wondering if the mustang shifter could be used with chevy 350 turbo? I would want to find the extended shifter rod so I do not have to lean over to shift.

I would suggest using a Lokar shifter.......they have differnt styles for most transmissions and optional length shifters and *****. Here is a picture from one of my other projects, where I needed to mount the shifter above the floor as I didn't have any space below the floor or next to the trans.

I am using a Gennie shifter in my 55. Chose Gennie over Lokar because Gennie uses a side detent set up (you move the shifter handle toward the left and then shift into the desired gear) as opposed to the **** mounted button that the Lokar unit uses.
It gives you more options for handles/***** and its easier if you want to make your own shift rod
