I have gathered that Dana/Spicer balljoints are the way to go. The supplier here has them on back order, they have been since May.
Anyhow, does anyone make some sort of beefy upgraded ball-joint for the D44? I am just curious, seems like some one would have if it was feasible. I go by the system of it is better to up-grade when you have it apart than wish you would have later.
Dana/Spicers are cheaper from the supplier here than the moogs are anywhere else. Even cheaper than NAPA's private brand. I mostly was interested in knowing if anyone had made a beefier upgraded one. I just figured the possibility was there.
I have run the Dana Spicer ball joints for years and they have held up very well I don't know of a heavy duty one but I do know the cheaper ones from some of the auto parts chains like O reilly have plastic in them they are Junk.
I just rebuild my 76 and used the spicer kits the kits with both ball joints and all the hardware were cheaper from inland truck parts than just one ball joint from Napa.
