looking for some common problems that can be found during a test drive. i would hook it up to my AE but she lives 500+ miles away so its not possible at this time.

If it is being purchased from a Ford dealer, have the dealer show you a OASIS report which details warranty repair work that was performed.

Follow the two links in this post and you'll find a great checklist to go by when shopping for a 6.0 and differences between model years of the 6.0.

i'll let her know i wish i was down there with the laptop but it won't happen. i sent her the one list of things to check and its not at a ford dealership but the owner of the dealership also owns a ford dealership so maybe it will be possible to get an oasis report
she's going to look at it tomorrow morning

Ran oasis, has had 2 egr valves, 2 reprograms, 1 cam sensor, & some wires repaired for doors locks being inop, not bad considering its almost 100,000 miles. If she has the option tell her to buy the extended warranty to 7 years/200,000 miles, it pays for it self with one repair. Warranty start date on that truck was 5/17/2005 so they would be covered until 5/17/2012 or 200000 miles, which ever came first.
