My wifes '07 is getting close to needing new tires and we were thinking of getting some Silent Armors, but I found some BFG Rugged trails with 9500 miles on them that a local guy wants to sell for $275. He just took them off to replace with mud tires and is trying to offset the cost by selling them.I had the rugged trails on my '05 and they were ok as long as you didn't venture too far off road. I said I would never buy them again, but this is a pretty good deal. My wife's truck rarely gets off the pavement and the money we have saved to buy the Silent Armors would cover these and the spray in bedliner we also want to get. What would you guys do?
If the price is right and in good shape I would get the BFG's all though I dont like them. When I bought my truck they had like 60% percent tread left and they were horriable in the snow. Pulling my 2 place enclosed snowmobile trailer they sucked. When I was stopped at a stop sign I would slide. But I guess it depends if where ever your from you get snow and if you do how much driving does she do in the snow. They might be better if there is more tread but I wouldnt buy another set for my stock rims.
I agree, buy the BFG's. I have mud tires on mine that I rarely get to use (thank you sucky economy) and if I could I would have a better on road tire with better tread life.
Cooper tires are good, The AT's, ST's and STT's are very good. I had a set of STT on a durango and LOVED them. weren't quiet, but OMG the traction was over the top on and off road, and made my durango float on top of the snow, Could go just about anywhere with them. the STT are a like a set of rock crawling tires, except streetable. They have rain sipes in every treadblock. 19/32 deep tread.
Cooper tires are in the midwest too, Farm and Fleets carry them.
Thanks for all of the info guys. I believe he wants the CTS series tires. Sorry about hijacking the thread, I forgot to ask about them until I started reading that thread.
