Wiring ARGGG!

I decided to finally hook up my trailer brakes and 7pin harness. All was going well until I went to check the lights. No left turn signal. Unhooked everything. Still no left. Bulb's OK. Left front works, just no left rear????? Any ideas? The wiring to it seems to be OK. I hate wiring!

do you have a left brake light?
if so it could be the turn signal switch in the column, if you shorted a wire it could have arced in there. that is where the signal is split from front to rear.
also check for 12V and a good ground in the light bulb socket,
and don't rule out a bad new bulb.

At your seven pin plug with a test light see if the test light will blink with the left turn signal operating. If yes, then the truck side is OK. Put a wire into the left turn signal slot on the trailer side and run the wire (extra wire) back to the left turn signal slot where the blub goes and check for continunity at the light socket center (positive) where bulb center is. Put one probe of the tester on the extra wire and the other to the center. If there is continunity then the wire on the trailer is good. If not replace the wire from the front plug of trailer back to the blub socket. Do the same with the ground.

I forgot to mention that the left brake light also doesn't work. I switch bulbs back and forth from both sides to confirm the bulbs.
Haven't even bothered with the trailer yet.
I'll have to dig out my multi meter and check voltage out tomorrow.
Thanks for the thoughts. I'll keep you posted.
I know it was working last week. Not too sure if it was still working this morning before working on it.....

You got it Jim. I should know by niow that trying to work on 12V wiring after a night shift is a bad idea as well.
