I have the DVD and brochure.....How well does it work on the Excursion (2003-V10 Limited with factory sway bars) and do I need it? Does it improve the normal ride and or help towing 4,000-8,000lbs? All opinions welcome! Thanks, Mike.
MGS, I have it on the X in my sig. I towed for a year without them, then put it on. My trailer is a 30', 8000#, camper. Just got back from a 2600 mile round trip into the Black hills and Badlands of S.D. I wouldn't be without it now. I have a rear Helwig sway bar, too, and this just puts the icing on the cake. The X feels like it is planted on the road. Cornering is much more positive (Even less body roll), it eliminated a small amount of porpoising I had on uneven pavement pulling the trailer, and no sag at all pulling my utility trailer, even with my Ford 9N tractor on it.
OP; Is that a 4x4? Mine has the 1/2" thick half leaf and it is all I need. I mostly off road and don't tow more than my snowmobile but it doesn't buck on steep rocky backroads in 4wd low due to spring wrap.
Scott, I couldn't imagine anyone needing the air bags along with the RAS system. If you needed both, you would surely be exceeding the GVWR of the X......
