gauges quit working

gauges quit working

all the gauges including the odometer and tach quit and then come back on. also the air conditioner compresser

You're going to have to be more specific. What year? What model? What engine? How many miles? Any work done lately?

I had this same exact thing happen on my 05 xlt 5.4L. I have a recent post somewhere called "guage cluster head scratcher." If you can find it, let me know if my situation sounds the same as yours. I took mine to the dealer and had it scanned. It said that I have a communication line failure. I thought "No chit? You think so?". The mechanic had no clue what it could possibly be and said it may cost me a couple hundred bucks for them to try and fix it. Looks like I'm going to have to figure this one out on my own and with the help from this forum.
