Will not run!
Hi, I just joined the forum today and have a problem. I have a 79 f150 4x4 with a 351m the truck used to run fine now when I crank it it will fire and run only if I hold the key in the start position but shuts off quick if I let it go to the run position. have replaced the ignition switch and electronic ignition box still the same . ?????? thanks David

re check and clean (if nessisary) the conections at the ignition switch and the duraspark box.
when you start the truck the ignition system gets its power from the start circuit. when you release the key it is powered from the "run" circuit. when the switch is in the run position the red wire with the blue stripe on the coil should be hot. if not than trace it back and check/ clean any conectors you find untill it is hot. a good repair manual should have a decent wiring diagram.
