Hi all... I have a 79 f100 with a 302 & AC.. recently had to put in a new timing chain. I do not have a chilton manual for a 79.
I am at the point where Im putting the powersteering, ac, alternator back on. I am confused on the bolts to use and locations.. does anyone have this information in a blow apart type image that they can share?
Also, here is another question. When startng my truck either with a bump button on the sylenoid or using the key sometimes it hangs up and keeps on engaging the starter I have to disconnect the battery.. what causes this? has anyone else had this problem.
This truck has been sitting for a number of years... PO says 4.. looks like more.. carb was all goobered up with some funkey stuff.. lol.. now it idles smoothly..

Sounds like the starter solenoid is going bad. It is quite common. The PO of my truck had the solenoid replaced a month before I bought it.
