i got a killer deal on some 33s 12.50 17s , will they fit on my 99 expedition ? its stock height but it sits about 1inch higher than a normal expy ( not sure why ) its going 2 inches lifted in the future but the guy wants to trade my 265/75/17s for his 33s , also were trading tire for tire and im putting them on stock expy rims , please help me out asap please i dont want to make a mistake and be screwd
The reason your truck sits higher is probably because it is the 4WD version and not the 2WD version. As for the tires, I do not know, but they sound a little wide for stock rims.
i just went out and measured my tires and all 4 tires measure out to be 30.5 inches , they do seem wide for stock rims but whats the worst that can happen with to wide of tires on a stock rim ?
12.5 inch tires will fit on an 8" wide rim with no problem. I used to run 39x13.50's on my jeep on 15x8" rims, and they would stay locked on the rims down to about 8psi.
I doubt that they will fit height wise though with only a 2" lift. The fabtech 6" lift is designed for 33's. Maybe with a whole lot of trimming, or really extending the bump stops. Maybe they'll fit in the driveway, but as soon as you try to turn, I'm guessing they will grind in the wells.
im still hunting for tires , i thought i had a deal on some nice 31s but the guy tried to lie about the bolt pattern on the rims , so i think i found a deal on some 285/70/17s , there on a f150 already so i dont see y they wont fit , how tall are they ?
285mm X .70(The 70 is a percent out of 100, so .70)
Thats 199.5
Then 199.5mm to inches is about 7.8inches
So 7.8*2 is about 15.5 + the 17 inches from the rim
thats how you get the 32.5inches
Well if the F150 is the same year or has the same bolt pattern, then they should be fine. Just because it is the same number of bolts doesnt mean everything is peachy though. If they are the same year, they should be fine, but otherwise compare the bolts and make sure they are the same diameter and have the same thread count.
Also, your vehicle is 4x4 capable right? Otherwise it will site slightly lower, which may be a problem, but I am not sure.
