Post POWER STEERING

on my 1979 bronco with a 460 the power steering is rough all of the suddden. When i turn to the right its not that hard but when i turn to the left its horrible and i have no power steering it feels like. When i looked under the hood there was fluid everywhere so i refilled it and then checked it again after driving and it is shooting fluid out of the cap where there is a pin size hole. does this mean that my pump is busted or should there be a small hole in teh cap to release pressure. If anyone can help me that would be great. Thanks

Something is wrong with the pump or your power steering control valves. The cap has to be vented, no pressure should be in there. The way it is acting, it is probably not the pump itself.

POWER STEERING

The pump's pressure relief valve could have a problem or a clog in the line. I don't really know that much so hopefully someone more knowlegable than me can jump in here.
