Gold trim paint code
The gold trim has the paint scratched about 3" long. I wanted to do a touch up but can't find the paint code. The truck is Ox white with the gold trim on the bottom. I have the white and I also bought the duplicolor paint for gold ford 2000. Apparently this is the wrong color. I have looked at the paint code on the body tag and don't see the trim color for the gold/bronze. Does anyone know the color of this gold / bronze trim. I would like to do a touch up. I have sprayed the white and buffed it out and the paint looks new, can't tell it was dinged.
The gold is still waiting. Thanks to anyone who can help. vettdvr

Are you sure it's PAINT? It could be (prolly is) something else.
I searched the parts catalog paint section looking for a 2000 Super Duty with GOLD exterior paint, could not find a listing or a COLOR code for it.
However, I did find a HARVEST GOLD tape stripe listed in the parts catalogs moulding section.
This stripe begins just after the front wheel opening, then runs down the lower body side. This describes just one type of stripe, there may be others, so...
Look on your trucks Certification Label for the STRIPE code, post what it is.
No, it will not.No Ford VIN of any year lists the paint (COLOR) codes, car or truck.
Trucks, SUV's, Econolines =
1981 thru today: The COLOR code is listed separately on the Certification Label.
Trucks, Econolines =
1957/80: The COLOR code is listed separately on the Warranty Plate.
Trucks =
1948/56: The COLOR code is listed separately on the Rating Plate.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Passenger Cars =
1980 thru today: The COLOR code is listed separately on the Certification Label.
1949/79: The COLOR code is lsted separately on the Warranty Plate.
Trucks prior to 1948 (cars prior to 1949) did not have VIN's, Certification Labels, Warranty or Rating Plates.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the vehicle is tu-toned, there is a space between the two COLOR codes, like this: Z1 AQ on the Certification Label.
Z1 could be listed first, or AQ could be listed first, it depends on what the paint scheme is.
Since the OP said he could not find a COLOR code on his trucks Certification Label for Gold, that leads me to believe it's a tape stripe.
Hmmm....

Edit: While I was searching, I checked the 2000 specs on FTE and found the following that shows the Harvest Gold as a new color for 2000:

Hope it helps.

Also on this label is the VIN, DSO, production date, codes for the AXLE, TRANS, SPRINGS, STRIPE (if applicable), the front and rear GVW's and other assorted stuff.
An example of no COLOR code would be a Coca-Cola truck, which would be painted a non standard color: Coca-Cola Red.
6 digit DSO number (Domestic Special Order): What a vehicle would have if special ordered. This applies to the paint and all sorts of other jazz.
If not a special order, the DSO is 2 digits.
Either way, the first two digits of the DSO are for the Ford District Sales Zone Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the vehicle from.
Example: 71 Los Angeles (SoCal).
If the DSO is 6 digits (example: 712345), the last four digits is the special order number.
The next leters are RC 52
Inter trim is 4H
I don't know what WB is but the number is 137.
Looking close at the gold it is a lower panel that is factory and appears to be an apperance upgrade. It trims out above the wheel wells and the bottoms of the doors. My son also has a truck in this trim it was a popular color. Mine is 2000 his is 2004 both diesel.
YZ = Oxford White
If RC is a COLOR code = Super Duty Medium Platinum / RC is not listed for an Excursion.
And...I just noticed that your "About Me" feature in your profile says you have a 2000 Excursion.
Since your thread is in the Super Duty forum...I just assumed that's what you have.
Up till just now...I've been looking at Super Duty COLOR codes, and my ref to a Stripe was also for a Super Duty.
AQ is Arizona Beige for Excursions.
B2 is Harvest Gold for Excursions.
B5 is Chestnut for Excursions.
The COLOR codes for one model may not be the same for another...this is typical of Ford.
For example, AQ is listed for 2000 Excursions, but it's not listed for Super Duty's till 2001.

I thought Harvest Gold was the Excursion trim color and bought it. But it appears to be too much gold. But perhaps my trim has faded. Now I am not sure which is the correct color. The harvest gold appears too gold.
I have a .jpg of the data label with the paint code but don't see anything for the gold trim. The ox white is YZ for the 2000 but there aren't any codes for the trim. The window sticker only states Oxford White Clearcoat with medium parchment leather. There are no trim labels.
Thanks all for the help. Vettdvr

FWIW, I'm in the same boat as the OP. My truck is an '01 250 with the YZ paint code. I too have the gold band at the bottom, maybe 8" high and need to match the color. I can post a pic of my data plate but there is no code on it for the gold. Here is a link to a couple pics of the truck that shows the gold trim.
