carb adjustment question
76 f250 with a 390. Just got the Holley 4160 carb rebuilt. Put it back on the truck and was trying to get it all dialed in.
Things were going well enough. I was doing a final tweaking to the two mixture adjustment screws. I was about to call it a done deal. That's also when it started making (or I just noticed) a really loud sucking noise from the secondaries after I gave it a few tugs on the throttle. Definitely the sound of a vacuum leak, definitely coming from inside the carb near the secondary bbls. Immediately started running so rich it died.
Now, with the mixture screws turned all the way in, it's still running really rich and struggling to stay alive. Getting spark @ all the plugs.
