Hi,
I am looking at getting the skyjacker 2 inch lift kit for my 93 2WD ranger and was just wondering about the quality of this kit. It comes with the replacement coils and add a leafs for the back. My main concern is the difference between the stock ride quality and this.I am hoping this new kit will stiffen up the previous stock ride quality.
I'm also conflicted about the springs. What is the quality of either the nitro or hydro skyjacker springs. I had bilstiens which I loved on my last truck but just don't want to put down that kind of coin if I can help it. As long as the skyjacker springs stiffen it up and are of decent quality that's what I'm looking for.
With the amount of time I spend driving it yes, as well as the great condition its in possibly. But like I said I don't want to drop that kind of coin, but im also tired of just putting in cheap shocks that make the ride feel like a tired cadillac.
Your message seems to be mixing "springs" and "shocks", and it's hard to tell what your question is.
Yes, the springs are stiffer, and yes, the shocks are stiffer, too. You may find that the rear add-a-leafs are too stiff. I liked the handling of my '91 Ranger with a Skyjacker lift, but I had new springs in the rear.
I don't think that either of the Skyjacker brand shocks are equal to the Bilstiens. They're not bad shocks, just not as good as Bilstiens.
Thanks, that what I was wondering what the ride quality of the shocks were and the overall quality of the lift (i.e. load bearing wise, finish, etc...)
In my experience, the Skyjacker was a well made lift kit. Like most replacement shocks, the ride can be overly stiff for several thousand miles until they break in. But my experience dates from about '92.....
