I got my new transfer case installed, and when I see "new" I mean used. Anyhow, the rumble I have been experiencing is still present at 25 mph under load. It shakes the truck pretty significantly, but after 30mph, it dissipates and does not occur. I know sky jacker makes a lowering bracket for the carrier in the rear diff, but I couldn't imagine it being that if its only makes the vibration at certain speeds. What else might be causing this rumble at only that speed?
Does the truck have a lift kit? It certainy sounds like a driveshaft problem to me, either it's not aligned, out of balance, or the pinion angle is too severe.
Yes the truck is lifted about 3 inches in the rear. The truck shifts through first into second no problem, then when the shift between second and third approaches, around 25mph, this rumbling takes over, and its pretty bad.
Heres what I cant understand tho, I installed Sky Jacker 6 inch leaf springs in the rear, which are actually only giving the truck 5 inches of lift. supposedly, these springs have a wedge that is suppose to correct pinion angle. Then, because I didnt need all 5 inches of lift, I removed my factory 4 inch blocks, and put in 2 inches blocks (F250 blocks). So I am left to think that maybe, I need a F250 driveshaft? Is the f350 driveshaft any longer than the F250 driveshaft? Because thats all I can come up with is that my f350 truck is expecting my 4 inch blocks to be in there in order for the driveshaft to work right. ?
