my back up plan is to relocate to the inside bed. I have a pretty good idea how that could be done. It would be very easy to do.
I'm still working on the tail light idea.
I thought for sure someone from here would have already done this.

Here is one I found that was done to a Honda Civic. Possibly you could modify it for the bed of your truck.
