BTS tranny?

Well I noticed a slight slip in the tranny. Orignally I was thinking of geting a different truck. I would stay with OBS and probably move to a fsuperduty. But after looking around I have come to the conclusion is may be better to work with the problems you know and not get new unkown ones.

So now to rebuilding the trans Like evryone I have a budget but I would like to do this right and not have to worry about it again. I shot an email off to BTS to see about things.

Finally here is my quesiton. when used for heavy hauling(up to 33,000lbs GCVW) is there certian things I should make sure I get in a rebuild that would maybe be different from a high horse performance (race type) truck. ( I already have a huge cooler and temp guage)

If you have Brian build your tranny it will have everything you need. If at all posiible go to his shop and have him rebuild it while you wait. He will take you for a test drive and he can set shift point etc. like you want them.

RacerX builds a great trans, too, at several different levels depending on what you need.
A BTS trans is the same for everyone. Everybody gets the same trans whether you're hauling 40k pounds, sled pulling every week, or squeezing 350 hp out of your daily driver.

And you definitely want to try to get to Brian's shop if you choose him. If you don't have time for him to go through your trans, have him get one ready and have him install it and test drive it. There's no charge for the install if you go there (at least there wasn't when I went).

Good luck.

I will get ahold of racer x and see what they have to say. It seems I was under the impression they were race only type of place. Thats why I like this place full of knowledge.

He's probably not kidding. I do the same thing. As a very small business man I have to cut corners some. I wish I had a bigger truck to haul my telehandler(very old and was cheap but works good!) but I don't so I get by. I only haul it a few times a year and not too far(50 miles or less). It works fine on flat ground but hills kill(of course; it's over 17 ton gvw). Good tranny will happen when this goes

No, I even axled out perfect on the scale (they give 10% for farm products) IIRC it was 3800# front 8300# rear and 21000# on the trailer. (20K gooseneck). That was only 10 bales. It pulled pretty hard wieght and catching the wind at 10' wide. Don't worry Im permitted up to 12' wide. I keep the brakes in order and it stops good.

holy crap! I grossed out at 27.5k once and it was scarry! that was a 00 dually superduty chipped, turboed, and a 6 spd. about 425hp. And it did not like that much weight. I could only imagine what a stock 1st gen stoke w an auto would be like

Its not a race, and you have to watch the pyro. I really need to get that intercooler in that sits in the garage.
