Looking for factory repair manuals

Can anyone suggest a site where I might download free or inexpensive factory repair manuals. Right now I am looking for one for a 1996 Ford F350 7.3lt DI Diesel, but may have need of other manuals in the future. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

manual labor

Try www.helminc.com. They sell factory service manuals for Ford & other manufacturers. Numerous ebayers also sell both used and new manuals. While the digital versions may have some utility, I still prefer a book whose pages I can flip back & forth to reference. CDs are quite often cheaper than actual bound volumes, but you usually get what you pay for...

Regarding your FTE moniker, hang around here, put what you learn to use, and you will have to remane yourself "iknowtrucks"!

You might try http://www.theautobookstore.com/, we got a factory manual for our Ford Explorer there for about $20 or so, and it was pretty complete. They come on CD so you can print them out.

Are these the exact same content as what Helm provides, i.e., Emissions, Engine, Body, Wiring Diagrams, etc...? Does anyone know? Because this is all the info it provides, for my 1997 F-250 H.D. truck: http://www.theautobookstore.com/Prod...uctCode=Ft9707 .

Also, re: Helm, I'm confused.

I see the various manuals (Emissions, Electrical, etc...) for $17., $25., etc... but I thought I have a 1997 F-250 "Heavy Duty," so do I want the regular F-250 (which I thought was the NBS--new body style) or do I want their "Super Duty" option--they don't seem to offer a manual for the "Heavy Duty"--check this page out:

Thanks, all.

Thank you all for the site info. I will check these out!! Hard copies are better, for sure, but can sometimes be sooooo expensive, so I sometimes download the manual, then print just the pages I'm needing at the time. Thanks again.

Bump...or

Hoping someone with experience on the "theautobookstore" CD's will comment?

Also, would like anyone's input on my Helm-related question....

Thanks,

BigSix
