i have a 2006 f150 with 46000 miles on it, and i wanna sell that and get a 97 f350 powerstroke because i love the look and the diesel engine. im just wondering if that is a good idea or not in the long run. your comments will be appriciated
Low miles, good transmission, well taken care of... if you properly maintain these engines they will last well over 300k. You'll never get that out of a 4.6 or 5.4. In the long run the diesel will be much better.
Just make sure you get everything you want and don't settle for less on the '97. If you want 4x4 and a 5-speed don't settle for a 2wd or an auto (like I did). It'll cost you more money to change it later.
And Welcome to FTE! If you do buy a diesel this site will be your new best friend!!!
my son-i-l has his in shop getting new paint job(96 F350.pwr stroke,5 speed)and metal replaced if needed. we looked at it last nite and the bed is off and in primer ready for paint and he was taking everything off the cab(reg cab). It is really clean truck with 100k miles and small lift and bigger tires.
