i registered about 5 minutes ago i am new to these forums but not new to forums or ford trucks i have a 66 f100 shortbed with original 2 tone white and gold paint
it has the original 352 with a granny 4 speed and ford 9 inch. my reason for creating an account is that i rebuilt the carb when i was 14 (now 16) and did a ****ty job as in i had a couple extra parts now that i am older and better with cars i want to rebuild the carb again the correct way . the carb is an autolite 2100. who makes the best kits?
i live near stockton . the carb has a little vent thing on the top of the float it is directly attached to the throttle pump i have seen that some 2100's have this and some dont.
why is this? also it has the granny 4 speed and it is tough to shift and grinds into second third and fourth bad synchro?
Sounds like your clutch isn't adjusted properly. Try lengthening the adjustable rod down below on the clutch fork. Check out a manual for the proper procedure there is supposed to a certain amount of free play when you step on the pedal, an inch or so I think.
