We called them tanker bars. Were used in the military when working on tank tracks but handy on other stuff as well.

I have a homemade one. It is 5 feet long and 1 1/8" in diameter. It was a PTO shaft from a tractor. Used it last week to straighten a small part of the frame on my truck.
