I was experiencing a vibration starting at 60mph and increasing as the speed increased. My alignment mechanic noticed my Pathfinder Luxury SUV tires with a defective tread on them (3 out of 4), so I took them back to Discount Tire. They put on Yokohama Geolandar's and they are even worse. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do to fix it.
Newly replaced Ball joints
Alignment is ok and checked by mechanic.
Ask the tire shop if they spin balanced (normal) or force balanced the tires. Spin balancing with these bigger tire sizes isn't all that accurate, and for some reason the suspension is very intolerant of weight balance issues. Mine's doing the same thing, I just haven't had a chance to go have them force balanced.
It could also be the front hub / bearing assembly wearing out, and I've seen some posts about issues with the steering box. The front hubs will make a humming noise if they are starting to crap out.
